Kia Niro EV Maintenance Tasks

With the all-electric Kia Niro EV, trips to Davis gas stations are a thing of the past. Like many EVs, the Niro EV is known for its lower overall refueling costs, extended range, and lower maintenance costs. However, the vehicle still has some basic maintenance needs to keep up with to ensure its longevity and drivability.

Do Electric Cars Need Oil Changes?

A Kia Niro EV runs on a battery and electric motor. There are no engine pistons, valves, or other moving parts that require lubrication or motor oil, so it won’t have regular oil changes. However, EVs are generally heavier than gasoline-only counterparts, so you may need to keep an eye on the tires more often.

Another thing is that the brakes on EVs tend to last longer due to regenerative braking technology. An EV automatically slows down as soon as you ease up on the accelerator.
